hello sunny... well first things first, 6 years is quite a while so get a quick once over off your GP to make sure nothing is hanging off.

start of little and often, doing CV work 3-4 times a week and resistance 2-3 times. are u training for cricket again ?? if so, get yourself into your club and get throwing some chinamen as well.

make sure you take your rest days, but no more than 3 consecutive days at any time as you start to lose the effects of training.

anything more specific, then specify what you want to achieve i.e. lose two stone in 6 months, improve aerobic fitness etc. i shall sort out a little programme for you.

All the advice Scousemouse has given you is great advice. The one thing I would add though, is to not be too strict on yourself in the first couple of months. I fell into the trap of trying to be very regimented, and found I had problems trying to fit training back into my everyday routine. The biggest thing I think is to make sure you enjoy it first of all! If you enjoy it, you'll want to train, at which point you'll have an excellent plan to work with.

Did you want me to write you a monthly programme ?? I only just saw your response so excuse the long delay. If you want me to write you a programme I do charge for it but I am confident in what i do, as i take pride and my time in giving something that is first class.

If you want to get in touch, email me at

Speak soon, Chris
