Coming back from injury

I have been injured for the past three months, on crutches and in an air boot cast. I suffered a severe sprain in my foot with a build up of fluid and some inflammation. The consultant has put it down to my biomechanics and has recomended me for orthotics. Now that I am able to get back into training I wonder if anyone would be able to tell me how to get my fitness back as quick as possible. I need to be back to full fitness for the start of the track season to enable me to compete in the 800m. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
